Erosion Control and Geotextiles

Dewatering Bags and Geotextile Jetties

Hydraulic dredge excavating into geotextile housing has been utilized for decades. Our work has addressed the back pressure issues caused by clogging. We have also increased the efficiency and capacity by incorporating a pressure activated relief design.
What we have learned from jetties is that they work! By reducing the water energy long shore nourishment sand is trapped. We offer a more eco friendly option. Sand filled geotextile groins proved effective in the 1980's. However, we had to address the problem of losing sand from rip-rap damage.
Beyond using these nearly immovable 77 ton sand bags to solve erosion problems directly on a beach or dune, we would like to go a step further and make a grid off shore to trap sand and BUILD beach! Depending on Mother Nature's changing conditions we can place a grid of bags out into the water and use a changing and adapting system responsibly to bend to nature's will. These geotubes are not considered 'immovable'. If the water line recedes they are usually buried and will be there for the next high water event.

Using GeoBags for GeoJetties to preserve and build beach!

Dual Layer Geo Sand Bags Available!

Off the shelf sand bags can lose sand due to rip rap. We offer the combination of two layers of the Right materials on the top portion of our geotubes that will resist sand loss even if damaged.

Bags from the 80's were plain woven. Geotextiles are now available for geotube construction! Stronger than ever, today's geo material is great on its own, but can also be combined with geogrid to prevent damage.

Being used in combination with rocks would be a big money saver as well!!!

Improved Materials

Windy and Turbulent Day

When the waves are large so is the amount of energy in them. The water and waves are discolored here because the energy from the waves is carrying sand. We want to prevent the wave energy from scouring the beach, or carrying the sand (and eventually the beach!) out into the lake.

Calm and Clear Day

This is the same beach on a calm day. Notice the sand lines along the pilings. These jetties slowed down the returning water enough to trap the sand. Geo jetties reverse the process of scouring. Water energy flowing over the top is slowed enough to let the sand fall out. You can't stop the water, but you can use the water to deposit sand vs. scour.

Same Beach Different Conditions

We install (and Manufacture!) custom sandbags to prevent damage from shoreline erosion and high water levels. Geotextile Bags are basically giant sand bags. 25ft Long by 12ft circ,  77,000lb Giant! to be exact. These bags are Not going to move and cover more surface area providing more stabilization than rock.

We want to Help Protect Your Property!

These bags are filled on site and can be added, stacked, or subracted as the job and nature's conditions change. We have made this an affordable, ongoing process that adapts with the needs of the environment. Home owners will spend Big Money in a one time shot to attempt to save their property from damage. There is no Guarantee that any Marine Contractor is going to give you that  it will work and last. Nature changes, and we have developed these processes to evolve with the need.

Save Your Property!!

We can prevent damage from high water levels, rebuild beaches, prevent erosion on dunes, toe in a revetment, lay a grid to trap sand, and much more!!!

Utilization and Control of Aquatic Plants

Working to combine bio-engineering and erosion control with geotextiles to build gradual beaches in site specific areas having high water energy.
Erosion controled swimming beaches protected by aquatic non-invasive garden beds.
Experimenting with biodegradeable and geotextiles materials to establish aquatic plants in areas not suitable for minor permits.
The engineered geo material will provide plant stability and allow colony rhizomes to penetratingly grow through and spread. This prevents invasive growth while providing eco habitat. Geotextiles for restricting restricting rhizome growth is being widely tested.
For all of your custom marine boat tops and upholstery needs.
